CITY GARDEN HOLLAND PARK 2
After the refurbishment of the entire house in this sought after Conservatory area, the outdoor space was in need for new contemporary layout matching the kitchen and dining room area style. The client’s brief also included to link the existing formal garden to this new modern extension. An sitting area has been created at basement level with concrete flooring and floated hardwood benches. Concrete steps to link basement, new contemporary metals steps from balcony above and paved area at garden level. A built-in bench was also designed at garden level using the same wood to create unity. A large reclaimed York stone paved area at garden area link contemporary and formal gardens. The planting scheme in the raised beds along the vast lawn has been revamped to offer a sense of unity in this large garden. Most of the existing planting has been kept with the addition of structural planting, a mix of herbaceous and grasses giving interest and structure for every season. A play area has been created at the end of the garden hidden by a pergola covered with a dense selection of climbers.
